Trayvon Martin Solidarity

Today, the Girl World 2.0 group wore hoodies and indulged in some Skittles and Arizona iced tea to show solidarity for the young man, Trayvon Martin, who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman -- a
self-appointed vigilanti cop --on February 26th, 2012.

There are several of us who believe that Trayvon shouldn't have been shot, nor followed to begin with, and that his death was tragically unncecessary.

Personally, as an adult who works with youth, I was really saddened by the news of Trayvon's death. No life is so worthless as to shoot that person dead. I'm not sure anyone knows what was said between Trayvon and George Zimmerman in Trayvon's last few minutes, but it certainly wasn't worth shooting him over. I wonder what was going through Zimmerman's head...why did he shoot? Why did he think it was okay?

Anyway, we just wanted to show our support for Trayvon and his family. Group picture to come soon! RIP Trayvon. :-(
