Miss Representation
When I saw the movie Miss representation it really made me think how women are so unappreciated in this world. I feel its wrong what females do to get attention. But at the same time I understand the females because some females feel thats their only way in life and the only way theyll be noticed. I feel it really made me notice a lot of things I never paid attention to. When I saw miss representation I just started to look around and I noticed everything they were talking about how females do a lot for attention. I feel guys are also the main blame because if they were to show the girls attention who respect themselves then other women would have more respect for them selves.

I definitely started noticing little things after I watched the movie, too. It drove me crazy that I would watch commercials and I would see photoshopped images of women with perfect skin doing housechores -- you know easy breazy -- like that's what they're role in society is. Because then I went to a computer store, and I noticed that none of the advertizements had pictures with women in them. Why not? Can't women work with computers, too? I think the images you talk about where women do insane things to get attention might be a result of being one of the few ways that women can get attention. :(
ReplyDeleteAnyway, nice post. I am curious what some of your other thoughts are about how there are very few women in politics. Like the movie said, only 17% of Congress is represented by women, and yet over 50% of the U.S. population is women. What are your thoughts on this, and do you think this relates to how women are represented or try to represent themselves?
