Pay It Forward

I once had a "pay it forward experience" and it was really random. But I believe that the best "pay it forward" experiences are the ones that start off weird and unexpected but have a great outcome. My experience was when I was on the bus with my little brother and a homeless walked on. His appearance was not pleasant- he had a badly infected hand that was swollen, had an ankle brace, and didn't take a shower in days. I didn't pay him much attention until he came to sit next to me. He told me how I was so beautiful and he know's I'm a smart girl. He told me to never believe that i was alone because I have friends and family around me as resources and comfort, to never make the same mistakes as him, and to always forgive and forget. I didn't take him seriously until after he got off the bus. But before he got off, he looked back and said "I know I don't look very smart but I know you'll make the best decisions for you and everybody else." I'm glad he took the time to talk to me like that. A couple of months later I saw him at a McDonald's and he was healthy again with a wife. I've never felt so happy for anyone!
