No federal law permits or prohibits guns on campus. Twenty-six states ban the practice, with an exception for public safety officers, and 23 states leave the decision to the colleges, most of which choose to be “gun free.” Only Utah requires public universities to allow guns on campus.

I learned that only Utah requires public universities to allow guns on campus. I think that still puts students and other people who is in the school in danger.that is still not safe. I think it was a good piece of infomation to know because now I know if i am really concerned about my safety not to go to Utah for college.
Hey Queen,
ReplyDeleteI read that, too, and thought that was really interesting. I thought it was especially interesting that there is no federal law that bans guns on campus, and that actually, it's a choice to be gun free in 23 states. I don't know that it is the same for H.S. I'm pretty sure that it is actually an offense to have weapons on campus (unless you are an authorize staff person or police officer.)
Anyway, how will this information relate to your original post about teachers possibly being allowed to carry guns on campus? If it doesn't maybe you can go back to the article and pull information that does.
