For my major blog post, I will be covering the topic of Women/Girls vs. Society. I've chosen this topic based off of personal experience with self-appearance. I feel that how women portray themselves really affects women/girls as a WHOLE. One girl's appearance could really affect the rest of us. Yes, this is unfair to many other women and young girls but, that's just the way society is.THIS article really gives the idea of how women see themselves. Even, at young ages of 5 or 6 yrs old give off the sexual look in either bathing-suits, modern-wear, or even pajamas. Therefore, in my major blog post I would like to go deeper into the situation and really get as to why society shapes women. So, STAY TUNED(:
Aah! This article makes me so angry/sad. 6 year olds shouldn't be feeling that kind of pressure!
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of interesting studies they mention as well. Clearly this is an issue that many people see as a major problem.
This quote in particular really made me think: "Although the desire to be popular is not uniquely female, the pressure to be sexy in order to be popular is."
How did women start making that connection?
